A Country Inn in historic Lexington, Virginia

The oldest section of the Inn was built in 1809. Additions were made to either end in 1816 and 1857. The property was purchased in 1907 and made into the Central Hotel and continued as a hotel and boarding house until 1971-72, when it was purchased by the Historic Lexington Foundation and restoration of the exterior was begun.

Now featuring 16 guest rooms and suites, the McCampbell Inn is a Virginia Historic Landmark and is on the National Historic Register.

The street level houses the office and lobby, a large reception and common area with kitchen and two guest suites. The second level has six guest rooms, 2 with private balconies! The third level has five guest rooms, 2 of which share a large balcony. The fourth level has 3 guest rooms.

All guest rooms and suites have private baths, individual temperature controls, refrigerators and other amenities. The rooms are individually furnished with many antiques and interesting artwork. There is a large double porch on the rear. Private, on site, parking is provided and guests can walk to restaurants, shopping and to Washington & Lee and the Virginia Military Institute.
